60 Years of Krislund Camp Activities

Krislund Camp was founded in 1963 by the Presbyteries of Huntingdon and Northumberland
to offer an opportunity for young people to have a rich experience in nature as they learned more
about God and grew in their faith journey. Later, the Presbytery of Carlisle joined in ownership of
the camp as they sought to serve their youth. Many of the early activities centered around
hiking, cooking meals in their small “family groups,” swimming and having fellowship around
camp fires where singing and discussions occurred.

Over the years as interests changed and opportunities increased many activities have been
added, some still very much a part of the camp experience while others are no longer a part of
Krislund. To learn more about the various opportunities that Krislund has provided over the

It is important to remember that though the specific activities have changed, the Bible lessons,
discussions of faith, and evening vespers have remained constant. Young people who have come
to Krislund often go away with rich relationships, increased appreciation of God’s great creation,
a better understanding of Jesus, and a stronger faith.

Staff for Summer 2023!

Krislund is looking for staff for Summer 2023! If you know a young person (age 17+) who is looking for a fantastic summer experience, please refer them to Krislund! All Summer staff receive:

• Three American Red Cross Certifications
• Question, Persuade, Refer Certification
• Facilitation, leadership, communication, and instructional experience
• Networking opportunities and lifelong friendships
• Lodging, meals, and weekly salary

Join us for Centre Gives!

Centre Gives is almost here again! May 10th and 11th you have a chance to support Krislund through the 36-hour online giving event that is being hosted by Centre Foundation. The event starts at 8am on May 10 and finishes at 8pm May 11th. Every donation that is sent in goes further due to the generous stretch pools. Centre Gives also offers a number of unique prizes, the most common being power hours, where the organization with the most individual donors during that hour wins an additional cash prize. Be on the lookout as we get closer on which prizes Krislund will be trying to get! 

Lastly, we would like to invite everyone to our Centre Gives Kick Off event that we will be having at Krislund! Come enjoy some of our activities or have a s’more by a campfire on the evening of May 10!

Register for an Alumni Event Today!

As we progress toward Summer, Krislund needs the assistance of volunteers and alumni to prepare for another year of campers and guests! Alumni Week is for any Krislund alumnus who wants to work hard, catch up with old friends, and have tons of fun doing it. Come out for the whole week or just a few hours to give back to the camp that has given so much to you!
